Plumbers covering Portsmouth
Our base is in Southsea, so we can usually reach homes across Portsmouth quickly when an engineer is free. Older terraced houses and flat conversions often have hidden pipe runs under floorboards and shared stopcocks, so knowing where your stopcock is can save a lot of damage. In flats, a leak can quickly affect the neighbours below. If water is coming through a ceiling, turn off the stopcock and call us.
Plumbing jobs we handle
- Leaking or burst pipes, joints and fittings
- Leaks under sinks, baths and showers
- Toilets that run, leak or will not flush; cisterns and fill valves
- Dripping or broken taps and mixer taps
- Stopcocks and isolation valves that are seized or leaking
- Low water pressure and noisy pipes
- Leaks from radiators, valves and heating pipework
If a leak is hidden in a wall or under a floor, we may recommend leak detection (trace and access). We explain what it involves and what it costs before starting.
What happens when you book
- Call or send an enquiry
Tell us what is leaking or broken and your postcode. We confirm the attendance price and the next available appointment.
- The engineer finds the cause
Our engineer diagnoses the problem and explains what is wrong, what it will take to fix and what it will cost.
- You decide, then we fix it
Nothing extra happens without your agreement. Many repairs are finished on the first visit. If a part has to be ordered, we tell you how long it will take.

Portsmouth plumbing questions
How much does a plumber cost?
Our plumbing attendance charge is £96 including VAT (£80 + VAT). It covers the visit and up to the first hour. If the job needs longer or needs parts, we tell you the price and you decide before we carry on.
Do you do emergency call-outs?
We answer the phone 7am–8pm, 7 days a week and send an engineer as soon as one is free. For an active leak we prioritise getting to you. Turn off the stopcock first to limit the damage.
Where is my stopcock?
Usually under the kitchen sink, but sometimes in a downstairs toilet, under the stairs, in a cellar or behind a panel. In flats it can be in a cupboard or a communal area. Turn it clockwise to shut off the water.
Water is coming through the ceiling, what should I do?
Turn off the water at the stopcock. If water is near light fittings or sockets, switch off the electricity at the consumer unit if it is safe to do so, and keep away from the wet area. Then call us.
